1 (Par 4) A taste of what lies ahead

TEE SHOT – It is vital to get of to a good start with a drive placed simply anywhere on the fairway.

APPROACH SHOT – Playing to the elevated green normally requires one extra club but the key to playing the first hole is to stay below the hole for putting.

2 (Par 4) A short downhill

TEE SHOT - A tough tee shot must be hit down the left hand side, as it is the firmer side of the fairway. A fade is an ideal shot off this tee.

APPROACH SHOT – Must keep clear of the bunker on the right hand side of the green. A lot of small breaks in this green, with most approach shots kicking on, rather than stopping. Taking one less club is a sensible play here.

3 (Par 5) A short but tricky Par 5, the green makes this a hole tougher than it looks.

TEE SHOT – Longer hitters should use a 3 wood or long iron off this tee, as the fairway cuts to the left sharply. Try to stay up the left hand side of the fairway here, as it will leave a much easier second shot.

APPROACH SHOT/LAY UP – With OOB just over the green and the fairway sloping to the left, all shots should be hit up the right hand side. The green has a severe tier in the middle sloping to the left, however, a false front will lead all short shots to the front of the green. Don’t underestimate this hole.

4 (Par 4) Index Number 1 Par 4

TEE SHOT – Extremely narrow fairway but it is a must to keep the ball down the right had side of the fairway.

APPROACH SHOT – Must have all attention focused on this approach shot. With a false front and sides you must hit this shot perfectly or you will find yourself with an extremely difficult chip.

5 (Par 4) A great short Dogleg Right Par 4.

TEE SHOT – The sensible play is to take a long iron or fairway wood off the tee to hit the widest part of the fairway. The more aggressive player has the option of slicing one around or over the trees.

APPROACH SHOT – A long two tiered green with a deep bunker to the right. Take an extra club if pin is at the back, as a short or mishit shot will run to the front of the green and lead to a very tough two putt.

6 (Par 3) An uphill Par 3

TEE SHOT – A deep bunker to the right must be avoided. Take 2 clubs extra here, as all short shots will leave a difficult uphill pitch.

7 (Par 4) A long down hill Par 4

TEE SHOT – One of the longer holes on the course, and generally plays back into the breeze. A wide fairway makes the tee shot easier, however many will struggle to get it far enough up to reach the green in two.

APPROACH SHOT – This fairway slopes to the right, so any shot up the left hand side will feed toward the green. Normally a firmer green, that feeds from front to back ever so slightly. This is a larger green and a par here is a plus!

8 (Par 3) Downhill Par 3

TEE SHOT – With O.O.B and a large bunker at the back of the Green, with also the elevation of the Green the best play here is simply playing for the Middle with the possibility of holing a putt.

9 (Par 4) Uphill tight Par 4

TEE SHOT – The risk outweighs the rewards on this tee shot, it is absolutely important to find this fairway a missed fairway on this hole normally means worse than bogey. Play safe from the Tee.

APPROACH SHOT – Playing to a narrow long Green everything feeds left so play to the right hand side and with a deceiving front and playing uphill one club more is normally the order.

10 (Par 4) Short but daunting Par 4

TEE SHOT – No need for heroics here with O.O.B left and strong tree line right a fairway finder is essential.

APPROACH SHOT – A long but narrow elevated green with a large swail in the middle makes the short approach shot more difficult than first shot. Choose your club with care.

11 (Par 4) Blind Par 4

TEE SHOT – The tee shot here is blind with a fairway that slopes dramatically from left to right, aim just left of the Ladies Tee Box and go after it.

APPROACH SHOT – A well hit drive will set you up for a good chance to get it close, beware though not to go too long or to the right.

12 (Par 3) Short Par 3

APPROACH SHOT – Any shot hit to the right will catch the bank and kick to the left however it could run all the way to the left of the green and could run into a deep-deep bunker on the left. This green is very tricky with a slight hump in the back right portion of the green. Be sure to be below the hole for an easier putt.

13 (Par 5) Long Par 5

TEE SHOT – A blind tee shot, this fairway slopes to the left, however a tee shot hit to the right of the fairway will catch a gully and stay in the rough.

APPROACH SHOT LAY UP – Once again this fairway slopes slightly to the left. It is a good idea to be on the left hand side of this fairway, as it produces the best angle up this green. Overhanging branches may play havoc with a ball on the right hand side of the fairway. A big bunker short to the left of this green is to be steered clear of, however, any shots hit up the right hand side will catch a mound and run toward the green.

14 (Par 4) Long Straight Par 4

TEE SHOT – As this is one of the courses longest par 4’s it is a must to hit the fairway. With a fairway bunker on the left and tree line down the right this is where the straight drive is best.

APPROACH SHOT – With bunkers on the left and a deep bunker on the right it is vital to hit this green in regulation. With a slope from left to right this green is very tricky to read. Take your time when putting.

15 (Par 3)

TEE SHOT – A tough 168m meter par 3. With a very steep slope just right of the green all shots hit right will be penalised with a very tough pitch shot coming back up the slope. Very tricky green to read, just remember green breaks towards the river.

16 (Par 5) Long Dogleg Right Par 5

TEE SHOT – The tee shot on this very long par 5 is extremely important. With a hazard on the left hand side and trees down the right it is a must to put the ball on the fairway.

APPROACH SHOT – Two options available here, the longer hitter may choose to go for the green in two, but will need to shape the ball from left to right around a few big gum trees. Lay up option also available and will leave you with an approach shot of about 100m into a double tier green.

17 (Par 3) Short Downhill Par 3

TEE SHOT – Relatively easy 140m par 3. With bunkers short right and short left and a hazard over the back of the green to avoid, this par 3 boasts a lot of appeal.

18 (Par 4) Dogleg Right Par 4

TEE SHOT – A tee shot that should be hit up the right hand side, as OOB is up the left hand side of the fairway. An aggressive player can try to cut of a lot on the corner; however this brings in a lot of tree trouble and also some bunkers at the back of the 8th green.

APPROACH SHOT - A two tiered green sloping severely from back to front. Depending on the pin position will determine your club selection. Do not short side yourself here, play to the fat part of the green and it will leave you a chance at birdie. Three bunkers guarding all sides of the green make this hole a tough finisher.
